The unmistakable beginning, and then the words, “Disarm you with a smile”.  Kindness feeds us, when we share it with one another. Sometimes we isolate ourselves, safer in our shell maybe. We can’t share a kindness with one another in this state though, we can’t receive love.

Not always needing to be obvious, a gentle word, a smile, or a look into someone’s eyes, can be all they need to get through the day.  An acknowledgement of something simple, and complex, all at the same time. Pain, life, love, struggle, sadness, joy, or even just the weather.

I know at times in the past, I really needed those moments of kindness shared, to all those known and unknown to me, for this, I thank you.  For seeing me enough, to send a smile over to me. Then disarmed, I was able to receive love a little bit more.

For all those that may read this, consider this as, me sending a smile over to you.

“I used to be a little boy, so old in my shoes, and what I choose is my choice, what’s a boy supposed to do? The killer in me, is the killer in you”. We all have a story, we can’t know why someone feels the way they do, nor do we have to, to be kind.

Please don’t deny yourself kindness, it is the path to love.

About the Curator: Erin Murray

Erin, a Mother of 1 little man and wife to 1 big man has learnt much about herself in the past few years.   After moving from the city to the bush (near the Ocean), there weren’t as many distractions as she had become accustomed to, in a smaller community she lost her anonymity and slowly began to become aware of herself, her feelings, the life she had created for herself and her relationships with others.  Seeking change from the feelings and behaviors which had become her normal, she sought out methods to do just that.  Slowly at first, then a bit more and a bit more she is becoming aware of what she actually wants for herself and has begun removing the things that aren’t that, inside and out.  Learning about faith (not religionJ), fun and how to be gentle with herself and others along the way.
