Music to apologize to – that’s what I’m calling this piece – The Ocean is the eponymous track from Jackson Love’s 5 track EP release this year – it’s bloody great music to write to – especially if you’re saying sorry.
I’ve had in on rotation for a while and have settled down to write to it a couple of times and yet, it was only this morning that I knew what I needed it for.
Emotion is everything when it comes to selecting a piece of music to write to – want uplifting? – check out Hans Zimmer’s The Battle theme from the movie Gladiator – want determination? - then Dr. Fuego’s your man – but if you want self-reflection – if you want to create a space where you can honestly look at yourself and acknowledge where you fucked up – this track does the job.
Although only The Ocean will make it onto the playlist I’m embedding the full Ep here on the page as each track flows seamlessly into the other to deliver 20 minutes of perfect mood setting music.

About the Curator: Andrew McCluskey
The first visual memory I have is that of the white upright piano in Singapore, Hell and the dark forces lived at the bottom, Heaven and the Angels at the top. They would play battles through my fingers and I was hooked.
Although I've always played, I haven't always been a musician. Most of my twenties were spent working with people, buying and selling and learning how the world works. It was in my thirties that I came to America and focused on music and began to develop music2work2.
