This week I'm sharing out a submission from a young producer who goes by The Careen. I found that the melody of "Spirals" stayed in my head after listening. The hopeful yet somber vibe fits with the rest of the Music to Forget Your Troubles playlist.
Alvaro Suarez, aka The Careen, is currently based in New York and has been writing and producing songs since high school. He's just released his debut album, "SM1L3." The album is about struggle and moving forward, of finding things that make you smile.
"Spirals" tells the story of staying creative and doing what you love to move forward rather than worrying about what will happen. The instrumental carries the song, but his lightly sung lyrics add to the relaxing, reflective vibe of the song. In Suarez's words, "I just wanted a nostalgic, chill, mind clearing feel."
