“So take this crown (Yeah), I'll be the throne
And put it down every type of way, yeah’’
A sultry R&B song by the Nigerian-American R&B duo composed of sisters Ivana and Jessica Nwokike. The song was released as a single as a lead up their debut album Silk Canvas. According to the duo “‘Addicted’ represents the more R&B and Hip-Hop side to their album. “The melodies and arrangement actually embody our core sound. When we created it, the rest of the album sort of just came together” says VanJess.
VanJess is a duo that has a love for infectious harmonies and sultry energy. The song has 90’s vibe to it and you can hear the influences they’ve name before such as Toni Braxton, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey. Then duo Nigerian heritage also lends their music a distinct dimension and flavour.
