About this Playlist
Do you ever make a playlist hoping that that particular someone would listen to it? Well, this is just that. And it's my journey about that kind of love– through music.
The elegance of these tracks is that they can express so much more than simple words can. When you get words that turn into lyrics and then add a bunch of instruments in the background, plus a layer of that soothing and sweet melody, you get a compassionate, emotion-filled piece of expression. The inspiration for this playlist came from a type of love that I wished for, but couldn't find the words for. Love makes you do crazy things, and usually, it's when you want to confess your feelings to someone, but love in this situation made me make this playlist- and I couldn't be more content. The tracks are filled with rhythms and vocals that'll make you swoon. From the classics of Ms. Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, & Donny Hathaway, all the way to Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu & Alabama Shakes.
The first track is placed there for a reason. "Tell Him," by Ms. Lauryn Hill got me pushing for the rest of this playlist. All the tracks were followed by the energy and meaning of this sole one. You'll notice that they all have a similarity. It's about saying that unfiltered feeling we all wish was so easy to say. I bet sometimes you also think to yourself, "Wow, I wish I could just say how I feel. Why is it so difficult?" But I guarantee you that the moment you press play on this playlist, each track will line up perfectly to that question and the lyrics will be all the things you try so hard to say to that one person you're thinking about. And hopefully, after listening to all these tracks, it'll make you realize it's time to express those feelings you have. I know it's about time I have.
