Growing up around my grandfather not only brought great memories, but also gave me great taste in music. He would play artist from Biggie, Tupac, and Lauryn Hill to Frank Sinatra (among other artists) and it wasn’t just the “hit” songs played on the radio. He’d a play full body of work, and it made me appreciate the artist more.
I knew that I wanted to be involved with music, I just didn’t know how. I was too focused on doing what I thought would make me a lot of money in the long run. It took me until having my own radio show in college to realize that I wanted to pursue a career in radio as a Program Director. I have so much love for music and people who are putting themselves out there through music, I want to be that person who paves a way for them that other people are not doing. I want to open up the gateway for artists to fully express themselves and have people feel them the way I feel them.
As I am still finding myself, I know music will always be there for me and my journey. I love being exposed to new music, and exposing people to new music. And now that I get to create playlist for people who enjoy the same music as me is such a blessing. I now get to help share the sounds that artists create that are not getting that much exposure, I am in true bliss. I am so excited to be able to express myself to you all with this playlist, and I hope it gives you all the feels that it gives me.
