Produced by Paul Epworth, "Mama's Gun" is a charming indie-pop song by Glass Animals from their second studio album "How to Be a Human Being." Contrasting from the soft and delicate music, "Mama's Gun" is actually a song that focuses mainly on the mental health issue.
This song not only sampled “Mr. Guder” by the Carpenters but also got inspired by the tragic life story of the band singer Karen Carpenter who suffered from anorexia nervosa and later caused her death at the age of 32. With the elements of happiness, hallucination, violence, and misery, "Mama's Gun" is a delightful and heartbreaking song with an odd sense of beauty.

About the Curator: Zoeln
I started to learn music when I was 5. Little by little, I found music irresistibly charming. Originally from China, I grow up by traveling and studying music around the world. Graduated from Moscow Conservatory and Berklee College of Music, my music choice is all about the imperfectness of life.
Currently, I am a singer-songwriter and also pursuing my Master's degree in Music Business at NYU. Feel free to find me @Zoeln on all streaming platforms as well as Instagram.
