I've been playing a game called Stories Untold. It's a text based adventure but with with some really great and atmospheric world building going on. It's a horror game technically but it's that kind of "exciting not scary horror" that was in last year's remake of Stephen King's IT or Netflix's Stranger Things, with which, by the way, it shares a common nostalgic 80s aesthetic.
It's a gorgeous game to play. The player movement is severely limited, the gameplay being text based, but as a result a lot of time and attention was put into getting every little detail of the3d models perfect. Love it.
But....... Can't find the soundtrack on Spotify. It's available on Steam as a DLC. It's absolutely brilliant.
Would love to share it here but can't =/ Sorry..... Go check out the game. It's made by No Code and published by Devolver. If you liked Event [0] you'll love this.
In the meantime lets look at another Devolver title. Devolver are a great publisher and they're having a sale on Stream right now which is why I'm playing some more of their stuff. I just got Crossing Souls I have yet to play this through to the end. I'll get around to it. The game is made by Fourattic, a game company comprised of 4 guys in an attic. The great trailers and the behind the video documentary really sold me on this. It's another 80s nostalgia game. But hey at least I was alive for part of the 80s. I'm allowed be nostalgic. The soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous and features Chris Köbke, on traditional orchestral stuff, and Timecop1983 weaving his blissful synthwave magic. I love Timecop1983. This soundtrack is really gorgeous. I use that word a lot in this review. It is accurate and relevant though. The song I've chosen from the soundtrack is by Timecop1983: Welcome to Tajunga.
