I mentioned them last week presenting my favourite band. So now I feel of sharing with you, one of the roots of Mustafunk. The plow truck of rock and roll in Argentina, DIVIDIDOS.
This band is the baby from a historical band in Argentina called Sumo. When the lead singer of Sumo died, Ricardo Mollo and Diego Arnedo decided to try this formula. In only 10 years during the 90's they became the plow truck they are today.
Why the plow truck? you may ask. When you go to their show there are 3 things you notice:
1- Normally they prefer to do more dates on medium venues, instead of one date in a massive stadium. This results in a room packed of crazy people needing rock. It's impossible to escape from this feeling in a place like this, there's no relax zone to stop your adrenaline taking control of your body.
2- As their music is powerful you will feel for at least an hour your chest being blown by the bass, your head exploding with the amazing guitar solos and your legs feeling tired of jumping without stopping, but still asking for more jumps.
I have to make a bit of emphasis here. I saw him starting a solo playing in a completely mad phase, audience threw a shoe, YES A SHOE. He caught it and continue playing his solo WITH THE SHOE and finished playing with his teeth and then cutting the string with them.
I don't know to how many concerts have you been, but if something like that happened in a concert you've been, you can die peacefully.
And 3- At the end of the show and also when they are not in the show, you will see three normal and really humble guys. Simple, smiling most of the time and relaxed. Now, of course that for musicians after playing you feel relaxed, but this guys after blowing your mind they just go to the edge of the stage and with a big smile they say thank you for coming, see you soon.
That's exactly what a plow truck does if you think about it. Everything is crowded and messy, then the plow truck comes with all his noise and then it's clear.
Ladies and Gentlemen, DI VI DI DOS!

About the curator - Rodrigo Medrano
At a very early age, music had an incredible impact on Rodrigo’s life. He was never able to listen to lullaby songs; instead he was served Guns n’ Roses and Aerosmith for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
At the age of 12, he became a melomaniac, collecting albums, EP’s, recording sessions, and researching every kind of genre. All this helped him to get his first job at a recording studio where he realized his life would forever revolve around sound and music.
Working on cruise ships as First Audio Technician allowed him to let loose his passion and expand his knowledge on psychoacoustics, eventually promoted up to being in charge of sound for the hit broadway shows: Rock of Ages and Burn The Floor.
His music library will never stop growing as his melomania will get worse and worse.
