From Glasgow now we are going down south up to Brighton, The Kooks and this delightful song.
See the sun is part of the tracklist of the album Konk, actually recorded on the famous Konk Studio. Produced by Tony Hoffer it’s just a little clue you get before listening this album that this is a piece of art. The real clue is the talent this guys have and the fact they always knew the direction for their “pop” influenced by 60’s british invasion and post punk revival music.
This song has a really polished mix and mastering, but I’m not talking about the quality of the sound because this song is actually a bit dirty. What I’m saying is this song perfectly placed instruments, voices and it’s effects so smoothly that gives this sensation that even there’s a guitar with plenty reverb and another one with a distinctive distortion (and reverb too), it still sound nice to follow those voices that work perfectly together. Maybe the drums are not the most complete part of the drums but for their style it’s enough to cover the area and make us focus on where the real talent is, which is the talent of the arrangements on voices and guitars (practically amazing!).
There’s an alternative version which is a nice background song to have at the end of your day.

About the curator - Rodrigo Medrano
At a very early age, music had an incredible impact on Rodrigo’s life. He was never able to listen to lullaby songs; instead he was served Guns n’ Roses and Aerosmith for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
At the age of 12, he became a melomaniac, collecting albums, EP’s, recording sessions, and researching every kind of genre. All this helped him to get his first job at a recording studio where he realized his life would forever revolve around sound and music.
Working on cruise ships as First Audio Technician allowed him to let loose his passion and expand his knowledge on psychoacoustics, eventually promoted up to being in charge of sound for the hit broadway shows: Rock of Ages and Burn The Floor.
His music library will never stop growing as his melomania will get worse and worse.
