The track i'm reviewing today is from one of my favourite artists AND one of my favourite record label so this is very exciting for me.
Vern & Milla are an electronic music duo based in Bristol, UK. I've been following their music for about 4 years now, they've only been getting more of a refined sound and evolving in this time. The track 'Catch Your Breath' was released on one of the leading bass music labels in the UK 'Keysound Recordings'. Having released names like Wiley, Geeneus, Wen, Logos & Sully to name a few. To see one of my all time favourite duos release on this label is exciting to say the least.
The EP as a whole was a long time in the making, the title track 'Untouchable' started as a wardub for a competition Keysound was running. After Blackdown (Head of Keysound) sparked an interest in the track they decided to turn it into a collaboration for the EP. 'Yoshimitsu' from the release was another old track, almost lost. The two other tracks on the EP were newer material that fit in with the style of the EP, that's how it all came together.
I imagine it's quite affirming to release with such a legendary London label, hopefully the boys confidence has boosted through this process.
Vern & Milla are already working on their next big project but it's too early for details at this point.
Make sure to follow the duo to see what is next in store.
