"Beach Day 04" is a nostalgia-fueled indie folk song that takes me to a beautiful place on every listen. The combination of reminiscent lyrics and hazy musical production takes me back to the days of being a little boy with an enormous imagination. The gorgeous guitar melodies are very soothing, especially during a small picnic on a sunny afternoon. It is easy to get lost in a trance while listening to this song, which I guarantee is what j solomon and his crew wanted.
The misty atmosphere and minimal instrumental of "Beach Day 04"reminds me of a couple of songs off Frank Ocean's Blonde project, which I love. But, j solomon still separates himself with his lyricism and vocal style. The imagery in J's lyricism is very poetic and vivid.
"I would listen to the noise of the stereo playing all these funny-sounding radio waves / And as the sun rose high above us, / And it was hotter than we could stand, / With a flimsy little shovel, / In my clumsy little fingers, / Digging holes up in the sand..."
The descriptive lyrics and J's smooth singing voice create a meditative and relaxing experience. J solomon is a super talented artist, and it is time for all of us to stop sleeping on him. Overall, "Beach Day 04" is a beautiful music experience that will make an excellent addition to the picnic playlist.
