"4 Leaf Clover" is a brilliant neo-soul/r&b record from Ravyn Lenae and Steve Lacy. The production done by Steve Lacy is very outstanding. I love how the distorted guitar strums and retro drum patterns give the song an old school sound. Also, the synths that pop up throughout the track balance out the nostalgic tone with a futuristic sound.
Ravyn's vocal performance on the track is very entertaining and sets her apart from the rest of the music industry. In the song, Rayvn sings about falling in love with a guy that is reluctant to commit to a relationship entirely. I like the dynamic of Steve Lacy singing from the perspective of the guy, while Rayvn sings from the woman's perspective. Overall, "4 Leaf Clover" is a unique song built off excellent chemistry between Ravyn and Steve. The beautiful combination of neo-soul production and blissful vocals makes this song a perfect play for a summer picnic.
