We're currently working with Fiona as part of the promotion of her new project Flow over on the Music to Write An Essay To playlist. If you're looking for beautiful instrumental music that has been produced to an incredibly high level, we can't recommend this album enough. Head on over to the track that we're featuring - itself called Flow - and check this beautiful music out.
I've known Fiona's music for over a decade now and when chatting to her last week - realized that of course her music would be perfect for the kinds of lists I curate. We were chatting about this list and she recommended this track - and oh wow is it perfect.
We're in breakup territory again and Fiona said she wrote this to represent the idea and feeling of what it's like to know you have to leave a relationship. And that's such a shitty space to be in - when you love someone and they love you back but - they have such a self destructive or just damaging essence to them that you have to leave or risk being taken down yourself.
The track is ethereal in nature - it's slow and sad and beautifully executed but for me - the power is the lyric and vocal delivery. There aren't a lot of words to this track but then - in situations like this - there isn't really much to say - aside from - "You made it impossible" - impossible for me to continue being with you - impossible for me to love you.
If you're in a situation like this - or you know someone who is - send them the track - and maybe Fiona's angelic delivery can help them to get out.
Great fun chat with Sharon from Grief Reiki https://grief-reiki.com/ this morning as she gives us an insight into the world of Angels and how they can help you through not only difficult times but normal times too.

About the Curator - Andrew McCluskey
The first visual memory I have is that of the white upright piano in Singapore, Hell and the dark forces lived at the bottom, Heaven and the Angels at the top. They would play battles through my fingers and I was hooked.
After my dad died I was very sad - I couldn't play for a while and when I did, the music that came out reflected my grieving state. I wrote an album of solo piano music called Music to Grieve to - from which the idea of the Music to community originated.
If you'd like to know more you should read Nicole's fabulous article on why listening to sad music can make you feel better.

What’s the point?
You ever find yourself asking that?
The point of this playlist is to bring succor to people who are grieving. That’s it. We listen to and feature songs that we hope people can resonate with and perhaps elicit a cathartic release – at the very least – to help them feel less alone…

It’s still September. We’re still talking about Suicide. We’re doing this because the experts tell us that the more we talk about it – the more we bring it into the open – the less likely it is that people will go through with it.
And yet – people still do…

So it’s September – and for the Grieve To list – that means our thoughts turn to suicide.
Yep – if you didn’t know – September is Suicide Awareness Month – it’s also National Suicide Prevention Month and in fact right now – between the 8th and the 14th – it’s actually National Suicide Prevention Week. If you are in any doubt as to the impact suicide has on society – spend a minute here: Suicide Statistics – the rate inches up every year – and as a middle aged white male – well – I’m slap bang in the highest risk group…
