A wonderful track, melancholy and sweet. Wonderful the idea of the cello that reprises the melody made by the piano in the beginning...
Could be a sleep time story narrated by the mother to his son, and that years after the son narrates to his kids.
I discovered this wonderful track, but I suggest you to listen the whole “Works for Piano & Cello” album… simply enchanting.
Daniel Paterok was born on September 13, 1985 and received his first piano lessons when he was five years old. In 1994, he began receiving instruction from the great piano teacher, Prof. Gregor Weichert.
During his 11 years of classical piano training, he won first prize in the "Jugend Musiziert" piano competition several times over.
It was during a visit to the United States that he saw a movie entitled The Majestic" after which he was immediately bitten by the boogie woogie bug. Back home in Germany, he studied this style of piano playing under the Boogie King of Westphalia, Christian Bleiming.
In keeping with the tradition of the 1930s, he holds regular boogie woogie sessions together with other musicians.
Since 2006, he has been performing regularly with Christian Bleiming in a boogie duo with two pianos.
In 2007 he founded the Daniel Paterok Boogie Duo with the drummer Paul Teschner.
Meanwhile, Daniel plays more than 100 concerts every year not only with his Boogie Woogie Trio but as well alongside with different New Orleans Jazz, Blues and Soul bands all over Europe. His first Boogie Woogie CD was released in March of 2012.
