Sundown Syndrome is a seriously underrated song of a now wildly popular band. My 16 year old self was introduced to the genius work of Kevin Parker by a childhood friend from New Zealand. To him I am forever grateful. Kevin Parker’s sound reflects that of a wise psychedelic guru. It’s like being transported into some weird and wacky alternate universe where everything is in slow motion and people are floating around on clouds of drug induced mystical journeys. Actually wait...that might have been the 60’s.
Beyond their trippy sound lies layers of instrumentation that can leave you entranced for eternity. Often times we seek out music for its ability to create a spiritual experience. Kevin Parker has that uncanny ability to transform any experience onto a spiritual level if that is something you are looking for. This song is without fail played every time I fly home and make the descent toward the island of Kaua’i. When all is said and done this song will remain a special experience for those who are willing to fully immerse themselves in a truly quality tune.

About The Curator - Maria Fish
You can most often find Maria in her garden humming along to an eclectic playlist titled “Life’s a Garden, Dig It” and of course tending to her beloved plants. This garden is located on the island of Kaua’i at her childhood home surrounded by tropical fruit trees and flowers. Beautiful music has always gone hand in hand with the beauty of the island. Just as she nurtures her plants, she looks forward to nurturing this playlist and the community of music lovers that feel like stopping by and having a listen.
