This is the type of track that I wish I could print or synthesize in an image and add it to a PowerPoint presentation about "Who said hip hop is just a bunch of mess and screams with no ability to be deep and elegant??"
Not that I have anything against messy and loud hip hop songs, hahahaha, I love them too... But damn!! Listen to "Roommates only" by Simon Dominic! It's classy, it's mysterious, it's breezy, it's cool, it's smooth, damn.
There is something so arousing about Simon's deep voice, his utterance and that fancy flow playing sliding on the words - I've said this before when reviewing "Happen ending" by Epik High and I'll say it again: I swear one of the reasons why rap is so big in Korean is how amazing the Korean language is for one who likes to play with syllables and words.
But let's not forget the instrumentals!! Sweet Lord, this is beautiful. So much class condensed in 5 minutes, man, it doesn't even feel like 5 minutes - this is a large length for a song in 2018, when everyone wants to be as straight as possible, but "Roommates only" takes you to a trip so surrreal and pleasant that leaves you wanting even more.
And there's more, actually: the following tracks of Simon Dominic's album "Darkroom", are all amazing, with pretty much the same vibe. "Roommates only" is the first track and sets the mood in a perfect way, as if Simon is inviting you to come into his space and get to know his deepest feelings - "Do you really want to be my roommate?", he asks. Are you ready for this? When one asks such thing, you know shit is gonna be intense. And I wouldn't even need to listen to the rest of the album to know - "Roommates only" is a whole lotta mindtrip itself. A delicious one.

Snoop Dogg’s voice and relaxed flow fits the beat extremely well, and the opening line of his verse might explain how he manages to still be on top of his game even after almost 30 years active: “Nothing last forever unless you talking ’bout my rap game“… Quoting a famous Brazilian song, “nice and slow is how we get there” – this seems to be his philosophy…
