When I was a child, we used to go on roadtrips, a lot. Even though we had the choice to take the plane to our destination, we still preferred going there by car. The reason is: roadtrips allowed us to listen to a lot of music. And while one of our trips to the south of Turkey, the only album (it was before Spotify) we had in the car was one of Ezginin Gunlugu’s albums. 10 hours of watching orange and olive trees made me memorize all of the songs on the album. I still remember the songs today.
“Ezginin Gunlugu perform music that is based both on traditional Turkish instruments and melodies and yet at the same time blends these with Western instruments and left-wing lyrics.” They are really successful in their use of the clarinet and qanun which are the best instruments that can be used in Turkish melodies, in my opinion.

Ada is a high schooler from İstanbul who cannot be seen without her headphones. She is a “support your local” kind of girl who knows all the best places to drink coffee in her hometown. Her subconscious is full of “Turkish Classical Music”, which she has been listening to since she was born. She likes everlasting conversations with her friends about music and art.
