Drift off and put your worries at ease with this calm indie-pop song by Au Gres!
I am very excited to share an Artist Track Submission for this week’s write-up. Thank you, Joshua Kemp for sharing ‘Nervous’, I can’t wait to watch Au Gres take off. “You oughta know”, he’s got some real talent
Nervous has a lovely dreamy sound from its soothing guitar to its charming lyrics. “Nervous was written for my girlfriend. It's about that warm, comfortable feeling you get right away after having met the right person.” Joshua does a great job of portraying just that. I love when a good song comes with a deeper meaning and I can tell that Nervous was written from a genuine place.
“A little bit of lo-fi, a little bit of indie pop” as stated from the artist’s Instagram bio. I couldn’t agree more! Inspired by artists like Dayglow, COIN and Clario; Au Gres does a great job of creating his own art with hints of familiarity.
Stay on the lookout for more enchanting music from Au Gres in the near future!

About the Curator: Janel Watson
I'm Janel from Vancouver, BC. I have a background in counselling and film. Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember.
When I was 8 years old, I became interested in playing piano after watching my best friend play. Seeing her translate scribbles on a piece of paper and magically turning it into music was fascinating and I knew I just had to learn. After self-teaching through a beginner piano book, I proved my interest allowing me to take lessons for 9 years.
Aside from piano, another hobby of mine is thrift shopping. I love the positive impact thrifting has on the environment. Finding a unique item is equivalent to hearing a new song; never knowing what to expect and searching with an open mind.
I believe music ties the whole world together by being diverse, self-expressive, therapeutic, and heck... just makes you feel awesome!
