Do you ever just space out sometimes and stare at the sky? Or even just go outside, sit on a chair and stay there for the longest time? Well, this track, “Today,” is something you’d want to play in the background. The part I love about this song is the static and radio vibe it gives off. It adds a whole new layer to the track itself. And the chorus and the outro, being so repetitive even with the similar and unforgettable beat structure, would somehow act as your mantra for the day. And a great one at that, “Today’s for us, today you’ll make good,” It’s like getting you started or reminding you in the middle of a busy day that ‘Today matters.’
Songs that give off such a calming message to the listener are always great. It makes the song mean something so much more to them and it ends up being a track that sticks with them, to help them remember what’s good about even just a simple day.
Andie constantly thinks of music as an escape to a whole other place. It also brings out this different side of her that only music can. Like, you ever have a bad day, but when you listen to this particular song or shuffle this certain playlist, everything seems better? Yeah, that's pretty much how it makes her feel too. And for her, music has to be playing everywhere– as in everywhere. It's like she has a soundtrack for anything. She can't stop writing or talking about it. It's something she can talk about with you for hours and hours. Music helps her get lost but in the best way possible.
