“Another day in paradise / Life ain’t fair but we dare to fly / To our dreams find our stairs and climb”
Music is art. Art is subjective. Some art is considered indisputably great, with critical and commercial acclaim. The Sistine Chapel ceiling. The Godfather Part 2. Breaking Bad. The Steve Harvey/Meg Thee Stallion mashup video (google it, you won't be disappointed). Then there is art that struggles to find support by any reasonable critic, yet still rises to the top of commercial success. The Dogs Playing Poker painting. Michael Bay. CW shows. Jake Paul.
In what twisted hip hop world is a snitch clown like 6ix9ine a household name while culture respecting groups like Tha Third I languish in the underground? In today’s viral / shock culture, it’s tedious to sift through to muck to find the gems, but when you do, the effort is rewarded with songs like “Paradise”, our track of the month.
“Always bet on yourself / Dream big and invest in your health”
Tha Third I is a West Coast duo, Guidry on the mic and Producer/DJ Ettikit crafting the beats. A quick look on Spotify will tell you they are in that “One Hit Away” zone, releasing solid single after single, waiting patiently for preparation to meet opportunity. That’s what “Paradise” and our playlist is all about. Don’t take my word for it, here’s what Guidry had to say himself:
“Our latest single "Paradise" is all about staying on the grind and never giving up. It's a reminder that The Marathon Continues. Our goal is to help the people through our music. We truly think you and your fans will vibe with the music and appreciate our sound”

About the Curator - Ben Young:
Ben Young lives a life of polarity. He has split his life between the coasts: half his life on the West (California) and half on the East (Georgia and Virginia). He has pursued careers in the art world (film school graduate) and the corporate world (executive with Fortune 500 companies). And he is Biracial, the personification of being two things at once.
Ben’s musical influences were formed by music loving parents, raised in a world of John Coltrane and John Lennon, James Taylor and James Ingram, Huey Lewis and the News and Prince and the Revolution. Saxophones, electric guitars, synthesizers, and breakbeats filled the air Ben breathed from birth. And being born one year after the birth of Hip Hop, Ben has been joined at the hip with the genre his entire life.
