Yeah, this is no overreaction / Miracles can always happen”
Duckwrth, an LA-based alternative rapper, is behind our Track of the Week, “Find A Way”. In today’s climate, that phrase can take on many relevant meanings, all of which weave in and out of the theme of our playlist. Featuring Alex Mali and Radio Ahlee, and produced by The Breed, this is a light stepping track that invokes positivity, encouragement and connection. It’s Chance The Rapper and Ariana Grande if they were transported to 1984, over an synth-pop track. Everyone’s smiling.
Over the last five years, Duckwrth (not to be confused with Kenny Duckworth, AKA Kendrick Lamar) has methodically built his resume, representing the next wave of hip-hop. His critically acclaimed projects include Nowhere (2015,) I’m Uugly (2016), Xtra Uugly (2017) and The Falling Man EP (2019). His biggest song to date is the well-timed banger featured in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, “Start A Riot”, and is just one of many songs he’s placed in films, TV series, and advertising campaigns for brands like Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple Music.
“We gon’ have to find a way”
Talking about the song Duckwrth stated: “In this journey we call life, us as humans will inevitably fall off the path. Sometimes due to forces outside of our control. But we always find our way. This is the theme song to Our Comeback. Let’s Find A Way.”
