"Let's create some happy days." What a concept. What a fresh track. The latest from groove champion Cory Henry has got the real deal feel. This song bounces you out of the cabin fever frame of mind, and into your best type of life type of smile. The message is pure, and the vocals are soulfully sung with sleek harmonies. Sound-wise, all of the textures are right where you want them. Thoughtful tones, with character in the mix. Yes.
If you get a chance to go see this band live, put your life on hold for a few hours and go do it. The Funk Apostles are a band with the highest level of musicianship and skill. So to hear them playing it so cool and laid back on this song is a thing of beauty. Everything is just nice in the pocket with TaRon Lockett. Also, take note that instead of melting your mind with a keyboard solo (which Cory is more than able to do,) you get a tasty little melodica solo that fits so well. Thanks for contributing to the happy side of things!
