Hip track alert from the latest Turkuaz album. Fight The Fire is the last song on the record but it's absolutely worth sticking around for. It has a great symmetrical blend of feel-good but no-nonsense weight to it. Dig the poetic, mindful lyrics too once you're dialed in on the sweetly formed groove and production that is at play here.
Turkuaz is a force of a funk band currently out and about doing their thing live. This song opens up a different type of deep feel for their songwriting. If you're a sucker for sax and gracefully arranged horn lines, you've arrived at the right tune. In fact, there are all sorts of warmhearted sounds moving around here. And that type of stuff is a Groove You Playlist staple. Lastly, don't get impatient or let your friend hi-jack the vibe with an erratic YouTube video because the slump-funk-Dilla portion at the very end of this song is glorious!
