This groove can serve as an "interlude" for this playlist. What is it about funk from the midwest being so deep? Is it the long winters? Who could say, but it is what it is. Karriem Riggins is hopefully no secret to the scene. One of the finest drummers and producers in the land, and a true master in the school of head nod.
This track seems to bring a feeling of focus, and inspiration to your soul. It's a "gettin' things done in a laid back way" type of thing. This is clearly a statement of the Detroit sound. The unique, nonchalant bounce. The rough, but above-average production. If it feels good, it is good. Push and pull, drop and roll because it's hot like that.
