This week's track is a bit of a throwback. After all, how can one leave Simon and Garfunkel out of their playlist? I'm not American, but you know you a classic when you hear one.
I had been familiar with Mrs Robinson but I only came across Sound of Silence when I first watched The Graduate. It not only set the tone for the film but became my anthem for the next couple of years. It was personal, poetic and profound. It's an example of indispensable music--the kind you turn to when you need to be by yourself and contemplate your life and its burdens. Maybe you're just another Ben, looking for direction in life. Maybe this is the song that can show you the light.
If you're feeling a little lost, let The Sound of Silence help you out.
