Aaah - Flow - the secret to happiness!

At least according to one of my personal heroes, the psychologist with the hardest name in the world to pronounce - Mr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (we know it's difficult 'cos there's even a YouTube video made to help you say it: "Me-high Cheek-sent-me-high")

Flow has been at the center of the development of the music2work2 brand over the years - it's one of those things that is hard to explain technically but we've all experienced it.  You know when you've been working at something - say writing an essay or reading a book - hell, even sculpting - and you suddenly look up and you've no idea where the time went but you just created something pretty cool?

Yep - that's Flow.

It's that state where you stop thinking about "how" to do something - your mind is not spending any conscious energy on the mechanical nature of writing, seeing or sculpting, instead it's totally focused on the "what" you are doing - the words that are flowing from your fingers or being understood and synthesized by your cortex - or even the stroke of your stylus as you render the model's nose to perfection.

The concept of flow is fascinating and I highly recommend you check out Mihaly's very well received TED talk that will give you a good introduction to the overall concepts.

Flow state is the nirvana for any creative - the faster you can get into flow the more effective, productive and indeed happier you will be.  music2work2 was created to accelerate a listeners journey to a flow state, it's cool to see it on a playlist that was built to achieve the same end.

Thanks Adrian!
