Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Chopin - giants of yesteryear - John Williams, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer - giants of today. Apart from the fact that modern composers haven't been dead long enough to be referred to by just their last name, these guys have a lot in common - they all produce amazing music that you can sit back and relax to.
Classical music is in major need of a re-brand. The very idea of classical seems to strike terror into the souls of hipster youth, conjuring up images of fusty old men plonking around on harpsichords while women in wigs drown inside a ton of taffeta.
And yet - when you think of it classical is everywhere today - most notably in our film scores. The modern composers on this list are all famous for their contributions to movies like Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Interstellar. And let's not forget the Game scores - work done by composers like Marcin Przybyłowicz for The Witcher or Erutan for Skyrim.
Fortunately for music - and the world in general - people like Levi have enough musical experience and taste to put the old and the new together. This introduces the modern listener - draw to the familiar scores of their favorite games and movies - to the wonderful classics of the past.
Thank you Levi ;-)
